CISD Families, We are monitoring the cold weather front that is expected to arrive early next week. The district is making necessary preparations to ensure all students and staff stay safe and warm when classes resume on Tuesday. We would like to provide clarification regarding the $400 stipend that was recently given to only teachers and IATs at the Pine Burr Elementary, Santa Fe Elementary, Santa Fe Middle School, and Cleveland Middle School campuses. The stipend came from federal government funds under the Title I ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act). As a financial incentive to retain teaching staff in Title I schools that are identified for improvement under section 1111(d), new provisions were included for the 24-25 school year and beyond. These four campuses were the only CISD campuses to meet the criteria necessary for this stipend to be provided. Please understand that this stipend comes from federal funds and does NOT come from local CISD tax dollars, nor does the district have any control over how the funds are distributed. Superintendent McCanless and CISD Administration will be reviewing this incentive and entering discussions with state and federal education directors in order to see how future incentives may or may not affect ALL of Cleveland ISD.

The Cleveland ISD May 2025 school bond referendum initiative has been suspended. Cleveland ISD will communicate future bond plans in late 2025. If you have questions or concerns, please email info@clevelandisd.org.
